Tamási

The town is situated on the hillsides along the River Koppány. Due to its favourable geographical location Tamási can be accessed easily from main roads 61 and 65. The small town, which has got a population of nearly 10.000 people, was named after Saint Thomas, the town’s patron saint. This region has been populated since the ancient times.

Forest Park

The Forest Park of Miklósvár can be easily accessed from the thermal bath. Hikers can reach the look-out tower through the forest adventure trail. The look-out tower was erected at the former castle’s place. From here you can have a view on the vineyards of the Tolna wine region.

Fishing

At the foot of Castle Hill, surrounded by the woods a fishing lake and two tennis courts await visitors eager to relax. The Gyulaj Forest and the nearby fishing lakes are also excellent places for lovers of fishing.

 

Thermal bath

One of the most significant baths of Tolna County is located at the foot of Castle Hill. The bath is open all year round. The medicinal waters have proven positive in the follow-up treatment of patients injured in accidents or suffering from orthopaedic locomotor injuries, as well a sin the treatment of arthrosis, spinal and hip arthritic deformation of the spine and hip joints.

Gyulaj

Game husbandry and organised hunting are carried out on 36.000 hectares on the former Eszterházy-estate. You can see big games in the wild reservation opened right next to the forest.

 

Pacsmag

The Pacsmag Lakes is a nature conservation area of national importance and also an internationally recognised waterfowl habitat.

 

Bicycle path

The six-kilometre-long bicycle path connects Tamási with Pári and provides visitors with unforgettable cycling and hiking on the former railway embankment.
